Watch the Trailer for Netflix's Latest Thriller, Earthquake Bird

From producer Ridley Scott and director Wash Westmoreland (Colette, Still Alice) comes Netflix’s latest psychological thriller, Earthquake Bird.

Set in 1989, the film follows the story of Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider) as Lucy Fly, an expat with a troubled past living in Tokyo. She enters into an intense relationship with Teiji (Naoki Kobayashi), a handsome local photographer. Lucy’s imperturbable exterior begins to crack when a naive newcomer, Lily Bridges (Riley Keough), becomes entangled in their lives, then ends up missing and presumed dead—and Lucy is a suspect.

The trailer is unsettling and doesn’t give much away. Tokyo is a dark, confusing labyrinth of secrets and deceptions and the haunting music doesn’t help much at all.

The film is based on the novel by Susanna Jones and releases globally on Netflix on Nov. 15, with exclusive theatrical engagements beginning Nov. 1.
