Uzo Aduba Cast in Season Four of Fargo on FX

Uzo Aduba will be a cast member on Fargo, Deadline reports.

The Emmy winner is currently filming the FX drama series Mrs. America with Cate Blanchett. She has signed on for a lead role in the fourth season of the network’s anthology series, Fargo, which is set to be headlined by Chris Rock.

Fargo is created, written and directed by Noah Hawley, who also serves as showrunner. Joel & Ethan Coen and Warren Littlefield are executive producers alongside Hawley. The show is produced by MGM Television and FX Productions.

Season Four is set in 1950 Kansas City, Mo., which serves as the site for a clash of cultures: Southern Europeans immigrants and African Americans who left the south to escape Jim Crow. Both groups want in on the American dream, and this leads to tension between crime families, one Italian, led by Donatello Fadda, the other African American, lead by Loy Cannon (Rock). A fragile peace is struck as the families trade their youngest sons, a plot point that will undoubtedly have ramifications for the forthcoming season.

Cast members who signed on prior to Aduba and Rock include Jack Huston, Jason Schwartzman, Ben Whishaw, Jessie Buckley, Salvatore Esposito, Andrew Bird, Jeremie Harris, Gaetano Bruno, Anji White, Francesco Acquaroli, E’myri Crutchfield and Amber Midthunder.

Aduba’s character’s name is Zelmare Roulette, but no further information about her has been released yet. Production will begin in Chicago this fall for premiere on FX in 2020.
