A New Mindhunter Trailer Teases Scenes with Charles Manson

We’ve got a chilling new trailer for Mindhunter Season Two—out Aug. 16 on Netflix—and with it a clearer concept behind the next chapter’s inspiration.

FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) dig deeper into more real life-inspired serial murders, this season focusing on the notorious Atlanta murders of 1979-1981, aka the Atlanta child murders. City and government officials alike believe the killings to be the racially motivated work of the Ku Klux Klan. With the continued help of psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv), the agents must put their theories into practice to hunt down the individual behind it all.

One of history’s most infamous cult leaders will also feature, with Cameron Britton’s Ed Kemper returning for an ominous last shot. “Manson is small. Like, really small,” he warns the agents regarding the unseen criminal. “Try not to stare.”

It all looks securely within David Fincher’s (Zodiac) wheelhouse, who returns to direct alongside Andrew Dominik (Killing Them Softly) and Carl Franklin (The Leftovers). Season Two will also star Joe Tuttle, Albert Jones, Stacey Roca, Michael Cerveris, Lauren Glazier and Sierra McClain.
