Boston's Ellen Kempner is the singer/songwriter behind Palehound, and her debut full-length Dry Food, released in August, mines all the complexities of a painful breakup. She may only be 21, but she's been writing songs for a dozen years and playing guitar since her father taught her at the age of seven. Kempner stopped by the Paste Studio to play a few songs during CMJ last week. Watch her perform Dixie above, and check out "Seekonk" and "Dry Food."
